The first hearing of the case regarding the death of 21-year-old footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who was shot and killed inside a vehicle in Istanbul, is being held. Among the defendants, who are being tried with a demand for life imprisonment, singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu's statement in court about a monthly income of "300,000 TL" drew attention.
The first hearing of the case regarding the armed attack that occurred in broad daylight in Istanbul's Ümraniye district last March, resulting in the death of 21-year-old young footballer Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, was held today. In the first session of the case, which sparked widespread public outcry, the monthly income declaration of the detained defendant, singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, who faces life imprisonment for 'instigating premeditated murder,' drew attention in court.
In the first hearing of the case at the Istanbul Anatolia 23rd Heavy Penal Court; Alaattin Kadayıfçıoğlu, who allegedly fired the weapon and faces life imprisonment, singer Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu, accused of instigating the murder, and famous folk singer İzzet Yıldızhan, being tried for 'harboring a criminal' with a sentence of up to 5 years, appeared before the judge for the first time.
KALAYCIOĞLU: MY MONTHLY INCOME IS 300 THOUSAND LIRA
During identity verification, when the court president asked about her monthly income, detained defendant Aleyna Kalaycıoğlu stated that her average monthly earnings were 300 thousand Turkish Lira. This income declaration by the young singer was one of the notable details in the courtroom.
GRIEVING MOTHER PROTESTS IN FRONT OF THE COURTHOUSE
Before the hearing, the family of the victim Kubilay Kaan Kundakçı, who made statements in front of the courthouse, tearfully called for justice. Saying that her son was taken from life for nothing, without any fault or sin, mother Ülker Kundakçı protested with these words: 'My child died because of a love triangle. There is no gain or loss. A woman caused my child to be executed. This is an execution! In a closed area, inside a vehicle, without giving him the right to flee, how could you fire that gun?'
FATHER CEMİL KUNDAKÇI: HOW WILL THEY LOOK ME IN THE EYE?
Stating that their son was shot in a planned manner, almost cornered, father Cemil Kundakçı reacted to the defendants, expressing his pain with these words: 'How will they be able to look me in the eye? When I look at them, I want to say, 'Did your conscience never ache, how did you carry out such an execution?' This is literally an execution.'
