Trabzonspor President Ertuğrul Doğan responded to the words of Fenerbahçe Board Member Hulusi Belgü, stating that Uğurcan Çakır will not be going to any Istanbul teams. Doğan said, "Other club presidents are also disturbed by this. Mr. Ali called and said, 'You wouldn't think of it, but we don't have anything like that.' Our captain is ours; we do not comment on anyone else's players. Everyone should be careful."
