Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya announced that the largest drug operation in the history of the Republic, named "Narkopan-Ankara," was carried out in Ankara.

In the operation, street dealers, referred to as "Torbacı," who sell drugs in neighborhoods and streets through internet-based communication platforms used by drug traffickers, were targeted.

PREPARATIONS LASTED 6 MONTHS

The preparations for the operation lasted 6 months. During this time, the suspects were monitored through technical and physical surveillance. The operation was launched today.

NUMBER OF ARRESTS INCREASED TO 602

In the operation that started in the early hours of the morning, 525 people were captured, and the number increased to 602 throughout the day.
