In the file of Dorukhan Büyükışık, whose lifeless body was found in İzmir in 2018 and whose father, Retired Major General Ethem Büyükışık, proved after years of legal struggle that he was murdered, the last fugitive suspect was also caught and arrested. LIFELESS BODY WAS FOUND AT A CONSTRUCTION SITE IN 2018 In the Narlıdere district of İzmir on May 13, 2018, the lifeless body of 26-year-old Dorukhan Büyükışık was found at a construction site, and the incident was initially recorded as suspected 'fall from height' and 'suicide'. However, as a result of the grieving father Retired Major General Ethem Büyükışık's struggle, the evidence he collected with his own means, contradictions in camera recordings, and expert reports, it was revealed that the incident was not a suicide but a murder, and that evidence was later attempted to be concealed. With the investigation shifting to a murder axis, large-scale operations were launched, and judicial proceedings were initiated against many suspects.
Within the scope of the in-depth investigation coordinated by the İzmir Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the meticulous pursuit of the İzmir Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams yielded results. As a result of technical and physical intelligence efforts to shed light on the Dorukhan Büyükışık incident, which turned into a murder case years after the suspicious death, it was learned that the suspect İbrahim Kazmacı, who had been a fugitive abroad for some time, would return to Turkey.
ALL SUSPECTS ARRESTED Security forces took action and took extensive security measures at the Edirne Kapıkule Border Gate two days ago. Kazmacı, who arrived from abroad and wanted to undergo passport control and entry procedures, was detained in a joint operation by border gate officials and gendarmerie teams upon the arrest warrant triggered in the system. After his statements at the police station, Kazmacı was referred to the courthouse and arrested by the Criminal Judgeship of Peace and sent to prison yesterday. Thus, all 26 suspects detained during the trial process on charges of 'intentional killing, destroying, concealing or altering crime evidence, and perjury' have been arrested.
It was stated that the investigation procedures continue in a multi-faceted and meticulous manner.
