In the indictment prepared by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, the alleged messages exchanged between Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and municipal employee Öznur Çağalı, as well as mutual blackmail allegations, were included in the file. It is noteworthy that Özcan is both a victim and a suspect in the indictment, which also contained messages related to an illicit affair. The messages in the indictment reportedly included statements from Özcan such as "Did you also enlarge your breasts?, I am enough for all of you, Sadettin Saran is my brother."
Bolu Mayor Tanju Özcan and Deputy Mayor Süleyman Can were detained as part of an operation launched on February 28 and were arrested on charges of "embezzlement" after giving statements at the Bolu Criminal Court. The indictment prepared by the Bolu Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included allegations that Tanju Özcan was both a victim of blackmail and was being prosecuted for blackmailing municipal employee Öznur Çağalı. It was also stated that the file contained messages allegedly exchanged between Özcan and Çağalı.
"FORBIDDEN LOVE" ENTERED THE INDICTMENT
According to information shared by journalist Fuat Uğur, the indictment also included message records found on the phone of municipal employee Öznur Çağalı. The file stated that there were a total of 117 conversations and messages via WhatsApp between the number allegedly used by Tanju Özcan, who is married to Çağalı and has a child.
Some messages mentioned in the indictment included the following statements:
Tanju Özcan: “Wow, you are very attractive.”
Öznur Çağalı: “I really just want to be your attractive one.”
Tanju Özcan: “Did you also enhance your breasts?”
"I AM ENOUGH FOR ALL OF YOU, SADETTIN SARAN IS MY BROTHER"
In another message exchange, the following statements were reported:
Tanju Özcan: “Did you miss me?”
Öznur Çağalı: “Of course I missed you, did you miss me?”
Tanju Özcan: “Very much.”
Öznur Çağalı: “Aaaaaa my president, who else could you be with?”
Tanju Özcan: “All of you come.. I am enough.”
Tanju Özcan: “Sadettin Saran is my brother.”
ÖZCAN IS BOTH A DEFENDANT AND A VICTIM
Tanju Özcan was positioned as both a victim and a defendant in the indictment. It was stated in the indictment that Öznur Çağalı's ex-boyfriend Mehmet Eren Akgüney learned about the relationship between them and blackmailed Özcan by threatening, "I will publish the messages and voice recordings I have." According to Özcan's claim, Akgüney demanded money, a vehicle, and a car wash in exchange for not publishing the said content.
According to Öznur Çağalı's claim, it was also stated in the indictment that Tanju Özcan pressured her with statements like, "What will happen if Eren hears this voice recording? I will protect you, I like you, you will meet with me."
WHAT IS THE SADETTIN SARAN INCIDENT?
Sadettin Saran, President of Fenerbahçe Sports Club, had given a statement as a suspect in the "drug" investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office targeting celebrities. While Saran was released under judicial control, he stated in his testimony at the prosecutor's office that the messages, especially with the announcer Ela Rümeysa Cebeci, were jokes inspired by movies, asserting that he had no connection to drugs.
Some of the messages that became the agenda are as follows:
Cebeci: We will have a small birthday celebration with the girls at work, I will arrange myself.
Saran: Bring them too, I am enough for all of you.
Cebeci: The g...s are not nice, otherwise I thought about bringing them too, dry g...s, I will bring the one that is worth it again.
