An investigation has been launched following a tip-off regarding irregularities in the tender for the rental of vehicles and machinery to be used in the cleaning services of the CHP-led Marmaris Municipality in Muğla.
An investigation has been launched into the allegations of irregularities in the tender for the Marmaris Municipality, which is affiliated with the CHP, following a complaint made to CİMER.
A complaint was received by CİMER regarding irregularities in the procurement tender for "Rental of Vehicles and Construction Machinery (without drivers and excluding fuel) for Use in City Cleaning Works," which was held by Marmaris Municipality on March 12, 2025.
INVESTIGATION INITIATED
The Marmaris Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has opened an investigation into the tender in question after evaluating the complaint.
As part of the investigation, the tender documents were obtained from the municipality by the teams of the Provincial Police Department's Anti-Smuggling and Organized Crime Division.
FIRST STATEMENT FROM THE MUNICIPALITY
Following the media coverage of the investigation, which is stated to be at the expert examination stage, a written statement was made by Marmaris Municipality.
In the statement, it was noted that the tender process for the rental vehicles used by the Directorate of Cleaning Affairs, which is the subject of the allegations, was conducted as an "open tender" in accordance with the relevant law. The statement included the following expressions:
"All stages of the tender process have been carried out in compliance with the legislation. Firms that did not submit a temporary guarantee letter among the bidders were excluded from the tender in accordance with the provisions of the legislation, and a contract was signed with the economically most advantageous firm that submitted a bid below the approximate cost among the remaining bidders. Every stage of the tender process has been completed transparently in accordance with the relevant laws and regulations."
