In Kağıthane, security guards determined that a suspect they had been monitoring for some time was frequently entering and exiting a building. Stopping the suspect at a gas station exit, the guards found 113 grams of drugs hidden in a gum box during a body search. Police teams also conducted an operation on the coal cellar beneath the building where the individual lived with his family. During the searches, 9 kilograms and 525 grams of narcotics were seized in a container.
Market and Neighborhood Watchmen affiliated with the Sadabad Police Station of the Kağıthane District Police Department began monitoring Berat Ö. based on recent information from drug users. Investigations revealed that Berat Ö. frequently entered and exited the coal shed area beneath the building where he lived with his family.
STOPPED WHILE LEAVING A GAS STATION
Berat Ö. (25), under surveillance for a while, was stopped along with Mücahit K., who was with him, at the exit of a gas station in Merkez District on Wednesday, June 10, at around 01:00. Inspections found 113 grams of drugs in a gum box on Berat Ö.
TURNED FAMILY BUILDING INTO A DRUG DEPOT
In the continuation of the watchmen's work, a raid was conducted on the building where Berat Ö. lived with his family in Hamidiye District and the coal shed section beneath it, along with teams from the Sadabad Crime Investigation Department. During searches in the coal shed, 9 kilograms 525 grams of drugs were seized, hidden inside a barrel. It was determined that Berat Ö. used the coal shed section of the building to store drugs.
"WE WRAP IT IN A NAPKIN AND SWALLOW IT"
Berat Ö. and Mücahit K., taken into custody, were sent to the courthouse after their procedures at the police station. Berat Ö. was arrested by the court on charges of 'Drug trafficking,' while Mücahit K. was released under judicial control. It was learned that in their initial statements to the police, the suspects said they wrapped the seized drugs in a napkin and swallowed them.
