Halkbank has applied to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (BRSA) to establish a branch-based participation bank.
In a statement made by Halkbank on the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP), it was reported that the bank's board of directors has decided to abandon its previous decision to establish a "digital participation bank" and has instead decided to establish a "branch-based participation bank," and that an application has been made to the BRSA in accordance with this decision.
THE NEW BANK WILL BE BASED ON PARTICIPATION
The statement said, "Although our Bank's Board of Directors had previously decided to establish a digital participation bank as a subsidiary under the BRSA's 'Regulation on the Operational Principles of Digital Banks and Service Model Banking'; as a result of evaluations, our Bank's Board of Directors has decided that the participation bank to be established will be set up as a traditional participation bank (branch-based) under the BRSA's 'Regulation on Transactions Subject to Banking Licenses and Indirect Shareholding.' In accordance with the decision made, the necessary application has been submitted to the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency." it was stated.
