WENT TO THE POLICE STATION AND CONFESSED

The suspect Çabuk went to a police station in Çayırbaşı, Kocaeli, the day after the incident, on Saturday, May 31, and surrendered with the murder weapon, the knife. Following Çabuk's confession that she killed her roommate, the teams acted and broke down the door at the address in Beşiktaş. Upon arrival, the police found the lifeless body of Zilif Öztürk.

After her statement, the suspect Demet Çabuk was referred to the courthouse by the Istanbul Police Department's Homicide Bureau for the crime of "intentional murder."
