An arrest warrant has been issued for Tamar Tanrıyar, against whom an investigation was launched for "insulting the president" and "publicly disseminating misleading information" due to social media posts, after it was determined that she had left the country.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has taken action regarding Tamar Tanrıyar, who is alleged to have made criminal posts publicly on social media platforms.
INVESTIGATION AND DETENTION ORDER FOR TWO SEPARATE CRIMES
In a statement issued by the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was reported that an investigation has been launched against Tamar Tanrıyar for the crimes of "Insulting the President" and "Publicly disseminating misleading information." It was also noted that a detention order was issued for Tanrıyar within the scope of the investigation.
The statement from the Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the following: "An ex officio investigation has been initiated by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office against the suspect Tamar Tanrıyar, who was identified as having made posts with criminal content publicly on certain social media platforms, for the crimes of Insulting the President as regulated in Article 299 of the Turkish Penal Code and publicly disseminating misleading information as regulated in Article 217/A, and a detention order has been issued for the suspect. Respectfully announced to the public."
ARREST WARRANT ISSUED
Meanwhile, during the investigations conducted within the scope of the inquiry, it was determined that Tamar Tanrıyar had left the country through the Marmaris Sea Border Gate on June 23. Following this development, it was learned that the documents for issuing an arrest warrant for the suspect would be sent to the courthouse on June 28.
ANKARA CHIEF PUBLIC PROSECUTOR'S OFFICE ALSO LAUNCHED AN INVESTIGATION
Previously, the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office had also launched an investigation against Tamar Tanrıyar for the crimes of "Insult" and "Slander."
