The arrival of the LGBT-themed cruise ship, announced to come to Aydın on July 7, has been cancelled.
THE DECISION ANNOUNCED BY THE GOVERNORSHIP
In the statement made by the governorship, it was stated that the planned voyage of a cruise ship chartered by groups known for behaviors that do not align with the structure and moral values of society, which had been brought to the agenda by some media outlets and social media platforms, to Kuşadası Port on July 7, along with the organization that caused great discomfort in various segments of society, has been cancelled.
“IT IS AN ISOLATED ORGANIZATION”
Emphasizing that the group's arrival in the city with such an organization is absolutely out of question, the statement noted: "The aforementioned cancelled voyage is merely an isolated organization and has no connection with other voyages scheduled to our port. The promotion of our city's historical, cultural, and natural riches to domestic and foreign visitors from various parts of the world, along with tourism activities through hospitality, continues intensively. Visits and activities carried out within the scope of cruise tourism, which holds an important place for our city's tourism and in which our district Kuşadası is a leader in our country, are ongoing as accustomed by our residents and tourism operators for years."
