In Marmaris district of Muğla, a British tourist allegedly under the influence of alcohol brutally attacked his wife and their child who tried to protect her in the middle of the street. The individual continued to strike the woman as she collapsed to the ground, and was only stopped by the intervention of nearby citizens and restaurant workers. After the horrific moments captured second by second on security cameras, the attacking tourist was taken into custody by police teams.

Marmaris, one of Turkey's popular tourist destinations, witnessed a horrifying act of violence against a woman and a child during the night hours. The incident, which took place in front of a restaurant on a crowded street, was captured second by second on security cameras.

ATTACKED HIS WIFE FIRST, THEN HIS CHILD

According to security camera footage, a British male tourist, reportedly shirtless and heavily intoxicated, began physically assaulting his wife after an argument for reasons yet unknown. As the woman collapsed to the ground from the blows, the attacker continued to hit her while she was on the floor.

During this, the couple's young child, trying to intervene to protect their mother, also fell victim to the father's brutal strikes. The man forcefully pushed and beat his child who attempted to stop him.

CUSTOMERS AND STAFF INTERVENED

In the face of this horrifying violence, nearby citizens, restaurant customers, and staff did not remain silent. Witnesses quickly intervened, trying to remove the attacker from the woman. The suspect, only subdued after multiple people stepped in, faced the crowd's outrage.

DETAINED

Following the incident, police teams dispatched to the area detained the attacker. While no official statement has been made regarding the health conditions of the female assault victim and the child, an investigation into the incident has been initiated. The spread of the footage on social media has once again brought discussions on violence against women to the forefront.
