If there is a complaint, you take their statement and then release them. Isn't it clear there's no flight risk? Handcuffing someone from behind and sharing these images is unacceptable."
CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu commented on social media about the images of comedian Deniz Göktaş being detained with handcuffs reversed.
In his post, Kılıçdaroğlu reacted to the detention images, arguing that Göktaş should have been released after giving a statement within the scope of the investigation against him.
"HANDCUFFING FROM BEHIND IS UNACCEPTABLE"
Kılıçdaroğlu stated in his statement: "I watched this image in anguish. Despite the investigation against Deniz Göktaş, he returned to his country with his backpack and t-shirt. If there is a complaint, you take his statement and then release him. Isn't it clear there is no flight risk? Handcuffing from behind and sharing these images is unacceptable. Deniz must be free."
