The drug test of Sebahattin Şirin (Muzaffer), the tribune leader of Galatasaray's fan group UltrAslan, came back positive.
TEST RESULT POSITIVE Sebahattin Şirin (Muzaffer), the tribune leader of Galatasaray's fan group UltrAslan, who was released on August 11 with judicial control conditions of 'house arrest' and 'travel ban abroad' within the scope of the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation into Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes, tested positive for drugs. In the examination conducted by the Forensic Medicine Institute, 'amphetamine' and 'methamphetamine' substances were detected in Şirin's hair sample.

IN HIS PROSECUTOR'S STATEMENT, HE SAID 'I AM AGAINST DRUGS' Şirin, who stated in his statement to the prosecutor that he was against drugs, said, "I bought the pistol, its magazine, and bullets found at my residence about 6 months ago from a Georgian citizen who came as a seasonal worker while I was in Trabzon Of, paying 45 thousand lira in cash by hand. There was no one else with me when I bought the gun. After I bought the pistol and bullets, I never used them, I don't even know if they work. The reason I bought the pistol was entirely for self-defense. Because I fight against people who actively operate in the stands and try to infiltrate the stands, use drugs, and try to bring them into the stands to sell, the pistol and bullets I bought were to protect myself from threats. I am against drugs. I regret possessing unlicensed bullets and a pistol, even for this purpose. I have no information about the magazines and the cartridge. I have no knowledge of what date or how they entered my residence. I bought one of the 4 ballistic vests myself about 5 years ago from a place I didn't know the name of in Zeytinburnu. My aim was to protect myself in case of possible threats. I received one of the other ballistic vests as a gift 5 months ago from a person whose name I know as Hakan, whom I know by face at European matches, but I have no other information about him. I have no information regarding the other two vests," he had said.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED? UltrAslan leader Sebahattin Şirin published an open letter addressing Justice Minister Akın Gürlek on his social media account. In his post, he mentioned claims about the championship race and called for trust in the state. An investigation was launched by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office's Bureau of Investigation into Illegal Betting and Sports Crimes, focusing on social media posts and club/fan relations. A detention decision was made for Şirin within the scope of Law No. 6222 (Violence in sports, irregular spectator entry/ticket transactions), Turkish Penal Code Article 217/A (Publicly disseminating misleading information), drug use, fraud, and possession of unlicensed weapons, and he was taken into custody by police forces.
HOUSE SEARCH AND INVESTIGATION DETAILS During the procedures at the police station, searches conducted at Şirin's residence seized cash, gold/jewelry, and an unlicensed gun. In his statement, Şirin said the jewelry and money found in his home were years of savings and wedding gifts; he stated he kept the gun for personal security reasons. He also stated that there was no black market/free ticket relationship between them and the club.
REFERRAL TO COURT AND HOUSE ARREST DECISION Şirin, whose questioning at the police station was completed, was referred to the Istanbul Justice Palace in Çağlayan after his health check. Following his statement to the prosecutor, Şirin was referred to the duty judge with a request for judicial control provisions of house arrest and a travel ban abroad, instead of a request for arrest, on charges of publicly disseminating misleading information, possessing an unlicensed gun, and violating Law No. 6222. The Duty Criminal Judgeship accepted the request and decided to impose house arrest and a travel ban abroad on Sebahattin Şirin, releasing him under judicial control.
