Following the corruption and terrorism investigations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, an investigation permit has also been granted regarding allegations of public damage related to 33 concerts at the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.
As part of the corruption and terrorism investigations initiated against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (İBB), many individuals, including Istanbul Metropolitan Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, have been arrested and sent to prison. Today, another noteworthy development occurred. An investigation permit was granted regarding allegations of public damage concerning 33 concerts held by the Ankara Metropolitan Municipality.
"IT HAD BEEN UNDER REVIEW BY INSPECTORS"
In a statement regarding the matter, the following expressions were used: "A series of cultural and artistic events organized between 2021 and 2024 had been under review by inspectors for some time. The review concerning the procurement related to 130 concerts conducted by inspectors has been completed. A decision has been made to grant an investigation permit regarding 33 concerts based on allegations of public damage."
"NO NEGATIVE FINDINGS WERE ENCOUNTERED IN THE ROUTINE AUDITS OF THE COURT OF ACCOUNTS"
No investigation permit was granted for 97 concerts. The Ankara Metropolitan Municipality made the following statement: "We would like to emphasize that these events have been thoroughly examined in the routine audits of the Court of Accounts and in the inspections conducted by the Ministry of Interior, and no negative findings have been encountered."
9 MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES WILL APPEAL THE DECISION
The 9 municipal employees subject to the decision and under review will exercise their legal rights and appeal to the Regional Administrative Court."

Following the investigation against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality and the detention of İBB President Ekrem İmamoğlu, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş commented, in response to the question "Will it be your turn next?": "Instead of engaging in a normal political struggle, they are trying to trip their opponent. Everything is possible in our country, everything is possible. A large number of petitions have been submitted to the Ankara Chief Public Prosecutor's Office. There have also been efforts directed towards me," he replied.
