Half an hour after the passenger bus overturned into the ditch in Antalya, resulting in the death of 8 people, another horrific accident occurred on the Antalya-Isparta highway. As a result of a head-on collision between two cars, 7 people lost their lives and 5 others were injured. It was reported that some of the injured, who were taken to the hospital by ambulances, are in serious condition.
A horrific accident occurred half an hour after a passenger bus belonging to Buzlu Tourism overturned into a ditch while taking a turn in Antalya, resulting in the death of 8 people. Another devastating accident took place on the Antalya-Isparta highway.
7 DEAD, 5 INJURED
The accident occurred around 11:00 on the Antalya-Isparta highway. According to the information obtained, two cars collided head-on. Initial reports indicate that 7 people lost their lives in the accident, and 5 others were injured. Upon notification, a large number of health and gendarmerie teams were dispatched to the scene. After the first interventions by the health teams that arrived at the scene, the injured were taken to hospitals by ambulances.
SOME INJURED IN SERIOUS CONDITION
It was reported that some of the injured were transferred to hospitals in Isparta due to their serious conditions. It was learned that an investigation into the accident is ongoing.
15 PEOPLE DIED IN TWO ACCIDENTS
In the passenger bus accident that occurred in Antalya, 8 people lost their lives, and 26 were injured. In the accident resulting from the collision of two cars in Isparta, 6 people died, and 5 were injured. A total of 15 people lost their lives and 31 were injured in both accidents that occurred half an hour apart.
STATEMENT FROM MINISTER YERLİKAYA
Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya made a written statement regarding the traffic accidents that occurred in Antalya and Burdur, saying:
"The traffic accidents that occurred this morning in Antalya and Burdur have deeply saddened us. In the traffic accident caused by the passenger bus overturning into a ditch on the Antalya-Burdur highway in the Döşemealtı district of Antalya, unfortunately, 8 of our citizens have lost their lives, and 26 of our citizens have been injured.
In the traffic accident that occurred as a result of the collision of two vehicles in the Yumrutaş village area of Ağlasun district in Burdur, unfortunately, 7 of our citizens have lost their lives, and 5 of our citizens have been injured. I wish God's mercy upon the citizens who lost their lives in the accident, condolences to their grieving families and relatives, and a speedy recovery to the injured. May our nation's head be held high."
