MHP Deputy Chairman Semih Yalçın stated regarding the handshake of their party's Chairman Devlet Bahçeli with the DEM Party deputies, "The hand extended by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli is an expression of the desire to maintain the thousand-year brotherhood law and the will to live together. Our Chairman's move is not a concession, a softening, or a normalization step; rather, it is a reminder of the owners of the normal and the owners of the place."
"REMINDER OF THE OWNERS OF THE PLACE"
MHP's Semih Yalçın, in a written statement, noted that Turkey sits on a rich imperial cultural heritage and that the MHP fulfills its responsibility as a unifying party. Yalçın stated, "The constructive attitude exhibited by our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli towards representatives of some political parties in recent days is a result of the legitimate necessity he feels for our country, which always asserts its greatness abroad, to present a picture of unity and integrity at home. The hand extended by Mr. Devlet Bahçeli is an expression of the desire to maintain the thousand-year brotherhood law and the will to live together. The hand extended by our Chairman reminds those who know, those who do not know, and those who deny the owner of national sovereignty in the geography we live in. Our Chairman's move is not a concession, a softening, or a normalization step; rather, it is a reminder of the owners of the normal and the owners of the place. In a climate where our country is going through a difficult period and the region and the world are in a ring of fire, it is essential that the rules of conflict and political struggle are shaped in line with national interests. State wisdom requires this. MHP Leader Mr. Devlet Bahçeli has also taken this reality into account. This step is not a sign of weakness or incapacity; on the contrary, it is an indicator of the greatness and severity of the state, and a testament to the MHP's confidence in itself. Dem is not a time for DEM-ification and dreaming of power. The era is not one of division, polarization, or factionalism," he expressed.
"THE ONLY HOPE FOR PEACE IS IN TURKEY"
Yalçın noted that Israel's activities in the Middle East threaten Turkey's security and interests, emphasizing that Turkey must demonstrate its deterrence by taking diplomatic, political, and military steps, and said:
"It is clear that the U.S., which could not open a corridor for the separatist terrorist organization in northern Syria due to Turkey's obstruction, has now granted permission to Israel to pave the stones of the David Corridor extending from Golan, Damascus, and Deir ez-Zor to Iraq. It is possible to trace the bombs dropped by Israeli planes on strategic points and regional cities in southern Syria to identify this bloody corridor. Beyond that is the Iranian border. Thus, it will also be possible for the U.S., Coalition forces, and Israel to conduct a ground operation against Iran in the future together with YPG terrorists. The aim of Israel's brutality and its disproportionate and reckless attacks on Lebanon is to open this new terrorist route for imperialism. Russia has been preoccupied with Ukraine, and Iran has been put under pressure. The only hope for establishing lasting stability and peace in the region lies in Turkey."
"MEETINGS TOWARDS THE HILAL WILL BE HELD TOGETHER"
Yalçın conveyed that Turkey is among the targets of Israel's Promised Land plans, stating: "While the opposition is in a rush for early elections in Turkey, which has just held its elections, as the surrounding area has turned into a fire zone, with numerous regional deadlocks and global problems awaiting resolution, and while the renowned international organizations are at their most ineffective period, and universal humanitarian values are struggling for survival; it inevitably brings to mind Orhan Veli's famous poem. 'Neither the atomic bomb, Nor the London Conference, One hand with tweezers, One hand with a mirror, Does the world care?' This poem beautifully summarizes the opposition led by the CHP. To discuss all these issues we have raised in detail and to closely convey our party's policies to our nation, a new regional meeting traffic has been organized in accordance with the instructions of our Chairman Mr. Devlet Bahçeli for the upcoming period. Under the slogan 'Meetings Towards the Hilal Together in Turkey', the first of these meetings will be held on October 29, 2024, in Erzurum. A total of 27 regional meetings will be held. To ensure that participation is at the desired level and that transportation is easy, the meetings will be organized in groups of three provinces. The selection of three provinces for the regional meetings has been inspired by the three crescents in our party's emblem. In the Turkey meetings, our comrades and citizens will exchange ideas on the topics we have presented since the beginning of our statement regarding regional and global issues.
