Arab Sunni tribes in Syria's Suwayda province announced that they support the new administration and are ready to hand over their weapons.
Representatives of the Suwayda Tribes Movement Community, which has approximately 1,500 armed members in the city of Suwayda in southern Syria, gathered in a military area in the provincial center and announced their support for the new administration in Syria.
"WE ARE AGAINST THE FRAGMENTATION OF SYRIA"
The leader of the community, Muflih Ebu Sabır, who read the statement, reported that they support the new administration in Syria for the establishment of peace and stability in the country. Ebu Sabır stated that they are ready for any cooperation for the unity of the country and emphasized that they are against the fragmentation of Syria.
"WE ARE READY TO HAND OVER OUR WEAPONS"
Ebu Sabır stated that they are working to ensure security in the region. Expressing that they do not want sectarian conflict in the province where the Druze population is predominant, Ebu Sabır requested the 'temporary government's entry into Suwayda.' Ebu Sabır noted that they are ready to hand over their weapons if the temporary government establishes a presence in Suwayda.
