Shakhtar Donetsk head coach Arda Turan criticized the refereeing after the 1-0 defeat to Sporting. The young coach said, "In the Sporting-Galatasaray match, a penalty was given for the wind, and contact was looked for on VAR. In our match, when you don't give a penalty for contact, together you make Sporting have 9 points. If it were a completely different scenario, perhaps they would remain on 3 points."

In the UEFA Champions League, Shakhtar Donetsk, who lost 1-0 to Sporting, manager Arda Turan blasted the referee's decisions after the match. Drawing attention to the positions that affected the fate of the match, the young coach argued that the refereeing was unfair.

''TOGETHER, YOU MAKE SPORTING 9 POINTS''

Reacting to the referee's decision in the penalty position, Arda Turan said, "In the Sporting-Galatasaray match, a penalty was given for the wind and contact was sought in VAR. In our match, since you don't give a penalty for contact, together you make Sporting 9 points. If it were a completely different scenario, perhaps they would remain at 3 points."

''IT WEARS US DOWN''

Stating that absurd decisions wear the team down mentally, the young coach added that they would still try to keep their focus on the pitch, and said, "In football, moments we sometimes cannot change upset us a lot. When we get caught up in feelings like injustice, it wears us down. But the pain I have suffered in life taught me to return to the side I can change, to the pitch. Still, I want to defend my players' rights. There is no explainable side to this position. Italian referees continue exactly like this in front of the screen as if they know everything."
