Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan announced that an agreement has been reached for the transportation of liquefied gas and bitumen through Azerbaijani territories. With this agreement, Armenian entrepreneurs will be able to access energy products from Azerbaijan via railway.

An agreement has been reached between Armenia and Azerbaijan for the transportation of liquefied gas and bitumen to Armenia via railway through Azerbaijani territory.

LIQUEFIED GAS TRADE AGREEMENT BETWEEN ARMENIA AND AZERBAIJAN

Armenian Minister of Economy Gevorg Papoyan stated in a social media announcement that a consensus has been reached regarding the transportation of liquefied gas and bitumen between the two countries.

Papoyan expressed that, under the agreement, it has become possible to transport liquefied gas and bitumen to Armenia via railway by passing through Azerbaijani territory, noting that Armenian businesspeople may start to take advantage of this opportunity.

Although the announcement did not specify from which country the liquefied gas and bitumen would be sourced, it is known that Armenia obtains these products from Russia.
