Kuşadası Mayor Ömer Günel, who was detained as part of the investigation into the crimes of "bribery" and "embezzlement" conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, has been arrested by the peace criminal court.

BRIBERY INVESTIGATION INTO KUŞADASI MUNICIPALITY
In the investigation conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office regarding the crimes of "bribery" and "embezzlement" related to the Kuşadası Municipality, the Mayor of Kuşadası, Ömer Günel, the Director of Urban Planning and Construction, Ahmet Taşkan, the Building Control Director, Mustafa Burak Gündeş, the municipal architect and urban planner, Meral Celep, businessman and former President of Kuşadasıspor Club, Ferdi Zenginoğlu, and businessman Hüseyin Kabasakal have completed their procedures at the police station. The suspects were taken to the Istanbul Courthouse in Çağlayan.
ÖMER GÜNEL HAS BEEN ARRESTED
Among the suspects whose statements were taken at the prosecutor's office, Ömer Günel, Mustafa Burak Gündeş, Meral Celep, Ferdi Zenginoğlu, and Hüseyin Kabasakal were arrested, while Ahmet Taşkan was referred to the peace criminal court with a request for judicial control. Ömer Günel was arrested and sent to prison.
WHAT HAD HAPPENED?
In the investigation related to the Kuşadası Municipality conducted by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, as a result of the evaluation of witness and complainant statements, suspect testimonies, information and documents in the investigation file, HTS records, and reports prepared by MASAK, it was determined that the crimes of "bribery" and "embezzlement" had been committed.
The Mayor of Kuşadası, Ömer Günel, along with six suspects, including the Director of Urban Planning and Construction, Ahmet Taşkan, and the Building Control Director, Mustafa Burak Gündeş, were detained in an operation carried out on March 13 in Aydın, İzmir, and Antalya.
