THEY FELL FOR A FAKE ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE VIDEO
Isa Kereci, 53, who collects scrap, and his wife Hale Kereci, 48, a mother of four, residing in the Kadıköy neighborhood of İlkadım district, explained that they fell into the trap of scammers after clicking on an advertisement that appeared on Facebook. The Kereci couple stated that they were directed with reasons such as "file fee," "insurance cost," "tax debt," and "Central Bank transfer" during the so-called investment process, which initially started with small amounts. They mentioned that money transfers were made from their bank accounts and credit cards to different individuals under the pretext of screen sharing.
THEY LOST 1.5 MILLION LIRA
Isa Kereci and Hale Kereci stated that during this process, they were made to take out an uninsured loan, their savings in the rescue account were taken, expenses were made from credit cards, they sold their gold, and they borrowed money from their relatives, revealing that a total of approximately 1 million 500 thousand lira ended up in the hands of the scammers.
The couple, who said they went to the Samsun Courthouse to file a complaint after the incident, warned citizens to be cautious against similar advertisements. Hale Kereci shed tears in front of the courthouse.
