In a survey conducted in 26 provinces, the question "If Ekrem İmamoğlu cannot be a candidate, who do you think should be the CHP's presidential candidate?" was asked. According to the results, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş ranked first with 39.5%. Özgür Özel was in second place with 14.2%, while Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu received 3.0%, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu received 2.1%, and Muharrem İnce received 1.7% support.
According to the ASAL Research survey conducted in March 2026; the preference for the presidential candidate among CHP voters has largely become clear in the event that Ekrem İmamoğlu cannot run.
FIRST PLACE GOES TO MANSUR YAVAŞ
In the survey, participants were asked, “Who do you think should be the CHP's presidential candidate if Ekrem İmamoğlu cannot run?” According to the results, Ankara Metropolitan Mayor Mansur Yavaş took the lead with 39.5%.
ÖZGÜR ÖZEL IN SECOND PLACE
In the survey, CHP Chairman Özgür Özel was in second place with 14.2%, while the percentage of those who answered “None” was 12.5%. The percentage of those who said “I have no opinion/no answer” was measured at 20%. Other candidates received support as follows: Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu 3.0%, Dilek Kaya İmamoğlu 2.1%, and Muharrem İnce 1.7%. The percentage of those who marked the “Another one” option was recorded at 7.0%.
YAVAŞ'S RISE CAUGHT ATTENTION
According to comparative data, Mansur Yavaş's vote rate increased from 36.0% in January to 37.4% in February, and then to 39.5% in March. Özgür Özel's rate, on the other hand, decreased from 17.2% to 14.2% during the same period.

The research, conducted with 2000 individuals aged 18 and over in 26 provinces across Turkey between March 9-16, 2026, was stated to be conducted with a 95% confidence interval and using the CATI method.
