Following the end of the 61-year Ba'ath regime in Syria, Syrians living across Turkey took to the streets early in the morning to celebrate. Forming convoys with flags of Turkey and the Free Syrian Army in their hands, the Syrians welcomed the changes in their country with enthusiasm.

Armed opposition groups entered the center of the capital Damascus, which the Bashar al-Assad regime lost control of in Syria. While Assad fled abroad, this marked the end of the 61-year Ba'ath regime.
