The bodyguard of Dilan and Engin Polat, who lost their lives in a bloody ambush in İzmir's Çeşme, was sent off on his final journey in Istanbul. During the funeral, moments when Dilan Polat collapsed in the mosque courtyard and cried for minutes were captured on cameras.
A funeral ceremony was held at Ataşehir Küçükbakkalköy Merkez Mosque for Can Polat, the cousin of Engin Polat and also the family's bodyguard, who lost his life in an armed attack in front of the hotel they were staying at in Çeşme. During the farewell ceremony where tears flowed like a river, the indescribable pain experienced by the family was reflected in the lenses.
"VACATION BECAME A GRAVE FOR MY FATHER"
The most heartbreaking moments of the funeral were the cries of Can Polat's daughter beside her father's coffin. In the mosque courtyard, the young girl, who fainted shouting "They killed my father!" ran and hugged the coffin upon seeing it. The grieving daughter, having a nervous breakdown, screamed "Where is my father? Vacation became a grave for my father," wrenching the hearts of all attendees. The young girl, struggling to stand and collapsing to the ground, was comforted with great difficulty by her relatives.

Dilan Polat, who was at the scene during the bloody attack and experienced great trauma, did not leave the family alone on this sorrowful day. Polat, observed to be quite exhausted at the ceremony, could not hold back her tears. Dilan Polat, who sat on the ground in the mosque courtyard and cried for minutes, was almost devastated, and her sister Sıla Doğu and other relatives nearby tried to calm her by embracing her.
After the ceremony dominated by grief and tears, Can Polat's body was laid to rest with prayers following the noon prayer and funeral prayer.
