Following the detention of Borsa İstanbul General Manager Korkmaz Enes Ergun as part of a fund investigation on charges of "membership in an organization" and "bribery," a change was made in the management. Deputy General Manager Atila Türeli was appointed acting general manager by a decision of the Board of Directors.
After Korkmaz Enes Ergun, General Manager of Borsa Istanbul, was taken into custody as part of the fund investigation, the name to replace him has been announced.
In line with the decision taken at the Board of Directors Meeting, Borsa Istanbul A.Ş. Deputy General Manager Atila Türeli was appointed as Acting General Manager of Borsa Istanbul A.Ş.
TWO CHARGES BROUGHT AGAINST KORKMAZ ENES ERGUN
Korkmaz Enes Ergun, General Manager of Borsa Istanbul, had been taken into custody as part of the fund investigation on charges of "membership in an organization" and "bribery."
In a statement made by the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor's Office, it was stated: "Within the scope of the 'Fund Investigation' conducted by our Chief Public Prosecutor's Office; Korkmaz Enes Ergun, General Manager of Borsa Istanbul A.Ş., has been taken into custody on charges of 'membership in an organization established to commit crimes and bribery,' and the investigation proceedings are ongoing."
WHO IS ATİLLA TÜRELİ?
Atilla Türeli was born in 1970 in Ereğli, Konya. He completed primary school at Ereğli Cumhuriyet Primary School, and middle school and high school at Konya Anatolian High School. In 1993, he graduated from Istanbul University Faculty of Law.
In 2008, he completed the European Union Public Law and Integration (European Public Law and Integration Programme) master's program at Bahçeşehir University Institute of Social Sciences. In 1994, he received his attorney's license.
Until 2000, he served as a judge in the judicial judiciary. In 2000, he won the exam held by the Istanbul Stock Exchange (ISE) and started working as a lawyer in the Legal Advisory Department.
Between 2000 and 2012, he worked at every level in the same department.
He served as Member Affairs Department Manager in 2012-2014, Compliance Department Manager in 2014-2016, and Chief Legal Advisor between 2016 and 2023. Türeli is currently a Member of the Board of Directors of TÜRİB and a Member of the General Assembly of the Istanbul Arbitration Center. Türeli holds expert mediation certificates in various branches of law.
