In a statement on the social media platform of the US-based company X, UKMTO reported that a notification was received regarding a maritime incident in the Strait of Hormuz.
The statement noted that, according to information relayed by local authorities, a tanker was struck by a projectile of unknown origin, and the fire that broke out on the vessel was extinguished.

It was reported that all crew members are safe and no one is unaccounted for, while the incident did not cause any environmental impact.
