In the summer of 2023, Attila Szalai, who transferred from Fenerbahçe to Bundesliga team Hoffenheim for 12.3 million euros, was loaned to Belgian Pro League team Standard Liege until the end of the season. Szalai had also spent the second half of last season on loan at another Bundesliga team, Freiburg. The 26-year-old Hungarian center-back has not played in any matches this season.

Attila Szalai, who was sold to Hoffenheim for a transfer fee of 12.3 million euros by Fenerbahçe in the summer of 2023, could not hold on to his place in the German team. Szalai was loaned out again in the second half of this season, just like last season.

Belgian Pro League team Standard Liege announced that they have loaned Attila Szalai, whose transfer rights belong to Hoffenheim, until the end of the season. According to the agreement, the Hungarian defender will spend the second half of the season in Belgium.
