The Constitutional Court evaluated Aziz Yıldırım's statement about Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, in which he said, "Such stupidity, I mean stupidity, cannot be immorality; they put the bottle down, pour the whiskey, and make comments," within the scope of freedom of expression.

The Constitutional Court has made its final decision in the "Defamation" case between Fenerbahçe's former president Aziz Yıldırım and journalist Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı.

The Constitutional Court evaluated Aziz Yıldırım's statements towards journalist Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı within the scope of freedom of expression and ruled that there was no need for a criminal sanction.

WHAT HAPPENED?

Aziz Yıldırım's words in 2019 about Rasim Ozan Kütahyalı, "There can't be this much stupidity. I call it immorality. They put the bottle down, take a sip of whiskey, and make comments," were on the agenda of the Constitutional Court. The court ruled that Yıldırım's statements could not be considered defamation and decided that there was no need for a criminal sanction.
