Galatasaray's Lucas Torreira was not included in the squad announced by Uruguay's head coach Marcelo Bielsa, while Fernando Muslera was included in the list.
Galatasaray's Uruguayan midfielder Lucas Torreira has once again been left out of the Uruguay National Team squad. He was not included in the candidate list announced by head coach Marcelo Bielsa.
HE HAD STATED THAT HE WANTED TO RETURN TO THE NATIONAL TEAM
The 30-year-old player recently expressed in a statement that he wanted to be called up to the Uruguay National Team again. Torreira stated that he would continue to fight for the national team and expressed that he still dreams of participating in the World Cup.
Emphasizing that he has no issues with Uruguay's head coach Marcelo Bielsa, Torreira mentioned that a previous post he made on social media might have been misunderstood and stated that he is ready to apologize if necessary.
BIELSA DID NOT INCLUDE HIM IN THE SQUAD
Despite Torreira's statements, Marcelo Bielsa did not include the experienced player in the 35-man extended candidate squad announced for the friendly matches against England and Algeria.
MUSLERA IS ON THE LIST
On the other hand, Galatasaray's experienced goalkeeper Fernando Muslera was included in the announced squad of the Uruguay National Team.
