A price estimate that will disappoint those waiting for the iPhone 18 series has arrived. Due to the sharp increase in memory costs, it is predicted that new models could see price hikes of 10 to 20 percent, and the price of the iPhone 18 Pro Max in Turkey could reach up to 159,600 lira.
Price predictions that closely concern those awaiting Apple's new iPhone models have emerged. According to the expectations of TrendForce, known for its research on the technology market, increasing hardware costs could be reflected in the sales prices of the iPhone 18 family.
Especially the rise in memory prices is significantly increasing Apple's costs. Current expectations indicate that even if the company does not pass the entirety of the cost increase onto consumers, the possibility of a price hike in the new models is quite strong.
MEMORY COST COULD INCREASE BY 400 PERCENT
One of the most important reasons behind the price increase is memory costs. It is estimated that the cost of the memory used in the Pro model with 256 GB storage capacity could be approximately 400 percent higher in the third quarter of 2026 compared to the same period last year.
Although it is stated that Apple may try to offset this increase by lowering the costs of other components, it is assessed that this would be difficult to fully cover the rise in total hardware costs.
HOW MUCH COULD THE IPHONE 18 PRICES BE?
It is estimated that the prices of the new iPhones could see an increase of between 10 and 20 percent.
When a 20 percent increase scenario is calculated based on the current iPhone 17 prices in Turkey, striking figures emerge.
It is predicted that the iPhone 18 256 GB could reach 102,000 TL, the iPhone 18 512 GB could reach 118,800 TL, the iPhone 18 Pro could reach 144,000 TL, and the iPhone 18 Pro Max could reach 159,600 TL.
It should be noted that these figures are not official Turkish sales prices announced by Apple, but rather estimates made based on current prices and the predicted rate of increase.
APPLE COULD CHANGE ITS LAUNCH SCHEDULE
In the new series, not only the prices but also Apple's customary promotional schedule is expected to change.
According to TrendForce's expectation, the company could split the launch of its new iPhone models into two different periods, autumn and spring, instead of releasing them at a single event.
While the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are expected to be introduced this autumn, it is stated that the model expected to be Apple's first foldable phone could also take the stage during the same period.
2027 INDICATED FOR THE STANDARD IPHONE 18
It is stated that the standard iPhone 18 may not go on sale at the same time as the Pro models. According to the expectation, the iPhone 18 and some other models in the series could be released in the first quarter of 2027.
In Apple's official store in Turkey, the starting price of the current iPhone 17 is 84,999 TL, while the starting price of the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max family is at the level of 119,999 TL.
Therefore, if the expected cost increases are reflected in sales prices, it is on the agenda that the iPhone 18 family will exceed the 100,000 TL threshold in Turkey, and the Pro Max will surpass 150,000 TL. However, the exact prices will be determined by Apple's official announcement.
