The MHP leader Bahçeli's applause for Tuncel Bakırhan, the Co-Chair of the DEM Party, who spoke during the budget discussions in the Turkish Grand National Assembly, has become a topic of discussion. The expressions in Bakırhan's speech, which Bahçeli applauded for a long time, drew attention.
The discussions on the 2025 Central Government Budget Law Proposal and the 2023 Central Government Final Account Law Proposal, which started in the General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey (TBMM), are ongoing.
BAHÇELİ AND MHP ROWS APPLAUDED BAKIRHAN
MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli applauded DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncel Bakırhan after his speech during the budget discussions. Additionally, it was observed that some members of parliament from the MHP rows also applauded Bakırhan.
In the speech that Bahçeli applauded for a long time, Tuncer Bakırhan stated the following:
"A CONSTRUCTIVE TASK AWAITS MR. ERDOĞAN"
Esteemed members of parliament, we have stated that we view the discussions initiated by Mr. Bahçeli positively and importantly since October 1. We said that we are open-handed for the peace of Turkey on this matter. As the DEM Party, we expressed our willingness to fulfill our responsibilities in this regard. The vast majority of opposition parties have shown a very determined will for a democratic solution and peace. Perhaps for the first time, we are witnessing a significant consensus. This is a very valuable attitude. It is a historic opportunity. Let us not waste this opportunity.
President Mr. Erdoğan has a constructive task ahead. Mr. Erdoğan, the Kurdish issue is Turkey's most historical problem waiting for a solution. The opportunity to make history by solving this issue is before you. As the DEM Party, I would like to express once again in the presence of the Assembly that we will do our part in this matter. This Assembly should be remembered for a solution. And it must present the Ankara solution without turning its face elsewhere. If there is a vision from Ankara, there must also be a solution from Ankara. If we are sincere in seeking a real and profound solution, we must find this solution not outside, but in the shared past of Turks and Kurds and in the determination to build the future together. We should avoid drawing strength from the capitals of other countries. Seeking opportunism in this critical process does not offer a lasting solution to anyone.
TUNCER BAKIRHAN GREETED BAHÇELİ AND MHP ROWS
It was noteworthy that MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli and MHP members applauded after Bakırhan completed his speech. As Bakırhan returned to his seat, he looked towards Bahçeli and the MHP rows who were applauding him and nodded in greeting.

After the closing of the opening session of the 28th term's 3rd legislative year of the Assembly, MHP Chairman Devlet Bahçeli went to the side of the DEM Party Co-Chairs as he was leaving the hall. Bahçeli shook hands with members of parliament, including DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan, DEM Party Group Deputy Chairman Sezai Temelli, DEM Party Van MP Pervin Buldan, and DEM Party Ağrı MP Sırrı Sakık.

Bahçeli's call for terrorist leader Abdullah Öcalan to "apply for the right to hope and speak at the DEM Party Group Meeting in the TBMM" under the condition of disbanding the organization had a significant impact in Turkey.
