CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who initiated the disciplinary process, suspended the party memberships of 9 individuals close to Özgür Özel and referred them to the disciplinary board with a demand for expulsion, with Ali Mahir Başarır among them. Başarır used harsh words for Kılıçdaroğlu, saying, "If he is going to beat or kill the friends he walked shoulder to shoulder with for years, may God curse him. This nation will not forgive him," to which Kılıçdaroğlu replied, "I will not forgive him alone."
Following the court's annulment decision, Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, who became the CHP General Chairman again, initiated the disciplinary process. After the MYK meeting, CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı appeared before the cameras and announced the names referred to discipline.
BAŞARIR AMONG THOSE SOUGHT FOR EXPULSION
Sarı stated that Enser Aytekin, Ali Mahir Başarır, Gökhan Günaydın, Nurhayat Altaca, Özgür Karabat, Umut Akdoğan, Veli Ağbaba, Turan Taşkın Özer, and Burhanettin Bulut's party memberships were suspended and they were referred to discipline with a request for definitive expulsion.
One person among those sought for expulsion drew attention. After the annulment decision, Ali Mahir Başarır, the CHP Deputy Group Chair who used harsh words for Kılıçdaroğlu and about whom the CHP General Chairman said, "I wouldn't forgive only him," was also referred to discipline with a request for expulsion.
"GOD DAMN HIM"
On the morning of May 24, a large group supporting Kılıçdaroğlu gathered in front of the CHP headquarters along with some CHP deputies and lawyers. After the scuffle, CHP Deputy Group Chair Ali Mahir Başarır's words, "If he is going to have friends he walked shoulder to shoulder with for years beaten or killed, God damn him. This nation will not forgive him. History will not forgive him," became the agenda.
While it was learned that Kılıçdaroğlu reacted strongly to these statements, preparations had been initiated to refer Ali Mahir Başarır to discipline with a request for definitive expulsion.
