The first comment from Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu came regarding the referral of 9 individuals in CHP to disciplinary action with a request for definitive expulsion. Kılıçdaroğlu said, "Let everyone who has been associated with allegations of impropriety in the party, who has been claimed to be involved in financial relations during the congress process, come and be exonerated. CHP will be cleansed of dirty politics."
The Central Executive Board (MYK) of the CHP convened under the chairmanship of CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu. Following the approximately 4-hour meeting, CHP Spokesperson Müslim Sarı stated that the agenda of the MYK included Turkey's current affairs and the 'absolute nullity' process.
Sarı announced the names for whom expulsion was requested, saying, 'Our Balıkesir deputy Ensar Aytekin, our Mersin deputy Ali Mahir Başarır, our Istanbul deputy Gökhan Günaydın, our Bursa deputy Nurhayat Altaca Kayışoğlu, our Istanbul deputy Özgür Karabat, our Ankara deputy Umut Akdoğan, our Malatya deputy Veli Ağbaba, our Istanbul deputy Turan Taşkın Özer, and our Adana deputy Burhanettin Bulut.'
"LET THEM COME CLEARED"
The first comment on the expulsion requests came from Kılıçdaroğlu. Meanwhile, Müslim Sarı said the following regarding the expulsion processes: 'These friends were subject to a decision we made due to their inclusion in indictments, and within the framework of our understanding of clean politics and to contribute to the formation of our purification policy. The judicial process is undoubtedly ongoing. Criminal cases continue; in the coming period, these friends will have to prove themselves and defend themselves before the judiciary. They will come cleared. After they are cleared, our door remains open to all these friends, and they will continue to stay.'
"OBJECTION CHANNELS ARE OPEN"
Answering questions from the press, Sarı, in response to a question about whether the expulsion request was made by the Party Assembly according to the party's internal regulations, said, 'Our party regulations include a phrase and definition for urgent matters and urgent situations, and it regulates the referral of any party member to discipline through the MYK within the framework of these urgent situations. There have been previous implementations of this. Within the framework of these implementations, we have made this decision. Of course, our friends can object to this; objection channels are open. They can appeal both the MYK decision itself to the High Disciplinary Board and, if there is an avenue, to other legal processes.'
