Former Los Angeles Dodgers baseball player Julio Urias is at the center of a major scandal for allegedly committing violence against his wife. Footage released by the California Highway Patrol shows the 28-year-old Urias chasing his wife, Daisy Perez, and pushing her against a fence. The incident occurred during a football game. According to reports, a dispute arose between the couple after Urias took photos with female fans. The footage shows Urias pushing his wife, pulling her hair, and lunging at her. Following the incident, Urias faced five separate charges. Although most of them were dropped, he admitted to domestic violence in May. He received a court order for 36 months of probation and was mandated to undergo community service and domestic violence counseling. This incident has deeply affected Urias's career. The player, who was placed on indefinite leave by MLB, has not participated in any games since then. Currently a free agent, Urias's future remains uncertain. This is not the first domestic violence case involving Urias. He was also in the spotlight for a similar incident in 2019. Given that it would be unprecedented for a player to be penalized twice under MLB's domestic violence policy, Urias's career is believed to be in serious jeopardy.
