Turgay Kındaç (47), who killed his wife Seher Kındaç (42) by hitting her on the head with a rolling pin and then strangling her with a rope during their divorce proceedings, was found to have searched on Google before the murder, "How long does it take to strangle a person with a rope." The incident occurred on January 29 in the Esenevler neighborhood of the Yıldırım district. Turgay Kındaç sent a message to his estranged wife's sister saying, "You can't take Seher from me; I killed her. Send the police and ambulance to the house, I'm not joking." The sister, upon seeing the message, informed the couple's son, Hüseyin Kındaç. When Hüseyin Kındaç arrived at the house, he found his mother in a pool of blood in the kitchen and notified the police and medical teams. The medical team that arrived determined that the mother of two had lost her life. "I HIT HER ON THE HEAD WITH A ROLLING PIN"Teams from the Homicide Bureau of the Provincial Police Department captured Turgay Kındaç, who fled after the incident, one day later and took him into custody. In his statement at the police station, Kındaç confessed to his crime, stating that he committed the murder out of jealousy, saying, "On the last day of 2023, there was a morale night organized by the factory at my wife's workplace. That evening, my wife took a photo with someone named M. and shared it on social media. We had been arguing about this for about a month. On the morning of the incident, we had another argument. I hit my wife on the head with a rolling pin, then I strangled her. However, I don't remember what I used to strangle her." After his procedures at the police station and the courthouse, Kındaç was arrested. WITHDREW MONEY FROM THE BANK CARD AND SOLD HIS PHONEThe indictment prepared at the end of the investigation conducted by the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office included the autopsy report of the victim. It was stated that Seher Kındaç was killed by being hit on the head with a rolling pin and then strangled with a rope, and that there were hemorrhagic fractures in her chin and throat area. The arrested defendant, who confessed to his crime, was charged with 'deliberate murder of a spouse' and an aggravated life sentence was requested. After killing his wife, the defendant took her mobile phone and credit card, and it was requested that he be sentenced to up to 15 years for 'qualified theft' and 'gaining benefit by unauthorized use of someone else's bank or credit card.' "I DRANK BLEACH AND ATE RAT POISON TO PROVE MY LOVE"It was revealed that Kındaç searched on Google before killing his wife, "How long does it take to strangle a person with a rope." While Kındaç's mobile phone call records were entered into the case file, he appeared before the judge for the first time at the Bursa 1st High Criminal Court, where he began his defense by apologizing to his two sons in the courtroom. Kındaç, who said he loved his wife very much and killed her out of jealousy, stated, "She had sent a photo and a heart to a friend named M. from work. I felt jealous. Thinking that she was having a relationship with him, I checked her phone. I was prepared to accept these things. To prove my love for her, I drank bleach and ate rat poison on the day of the incident. While we were still arguing, my wife used provocative and inciting sentences against me. Seeing the white cloth on the kettle in the kitchen, I laid Seher down and strangled her with the cloth. I didn't deserve this." "HE ONCE BEAT MY MOTHER WITH A METAL ROD"The defendant's sons also testified at the hearing. Hüseyin Kındaç (24) stated that he left home three months before getting married and started living separately from his family, saying, "He was covering his debts with more debts. He was using my mother's cards. There were constant enforcement actions at the house. He was no longer helping with the household expenses. This man was prone to violence. He had beaten my mother with a metal rod in the past, and my mother told us about it later." The couple's younger son, Hürcan Kındaç (21), stated the following in his testimony: "I had heard about M. from my mother. M. used to address my mother as 'Sister.' My mother would tell us about these things. The defendant would take my mother's phone and constantly make expenses from the accounts there. My mother would give me her phone. I knew the password. There was nothing bad on it. My mother hid her phone so that my father wouldn't take the cards and make expenses." THE LAWYER REQUESTED ADDITIONAL TIME FOR THE DEFENSEBoth of the defendant's sons filed complaints, while Turgay Kındaç's lawyer, Hakan Gündoğdu, stated that he would not make a defense due to the presence of his client's sons in the courtroom and the sensitivity of the case. Gündoğdu said that he needed to meet face-to-face with his client to discuss the statements and requested additional time from the court to prepare a written defense. The court accepted the lawyer's request for additional time, ruled that the defendant's detention would continue, and adjourned the hearing.
