In an attack by Hezbollah using a fiber-optic kamikaze drone, a military convoy carrying Israeli Northern Front Commander Major General Rafi Milo was targeted. Shortly after Milo and his delegation had disembarked from the vehicles, a military vehicle in the convoy was struck. While the delegation escaped the attack unharmed, the Israeli military has increased security measures, and it is suggested that Hezbollah is pursuing a strategy of "hunting commanders".
It has been revealed that the target of the attack carried out by Hezbollah's fiberoptic kamikaze unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) was the military convoy carrying Israel's Northern Front Commander, Major General Rafi Milo. The attack was reported to have taken place during Milo's visit to an occupied village in southern Lebanon.
STRUCK MINUTES AFTER DISEMBARKING FROM VEHICLES
According to a statement from the Israeli military, shortly after Major General Rafi Milo and the accompanying military delegation disembarked from their vehicles, a Hezbollah fiberoptic kamikaze UAV directly hit one of the military vehicles in the convoy.
It was reported that Milo and his delegation survived the attack, which occurred several weeks ago, without injury.
SECURITY MEASURES INCREASED
It was stated that following the attack, security measures have been tightened during visits by senior Israeli military commanders to occupied areas in Lebanon.
Israeli authorities are reported to be working on new measures to prevent the recurrence of similar attacks.
CLAIM OF "HUNTING COMMANDERS" STRATEGY
In a report by Israeli state television KAN, it was alleged that Hezbollah has recently begun adopting a strategy of "hunting commanders" in its UAV attacks.
It was noted that UAV attacks, particularly along the Israel-Lebanon border, pose a serious security problem for the Israeli military, and it was expressed that finding a permanent solution to the attacks has been challenging.
NETANYAHU ESTABLISHED SPECIAL TEAM
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu previously announced in a statement that a special team consisting of civilian and military experts had been established to counter UAV threats.
Netanyahu stated that the team is continuing its efforts to develop a permanent solution against UAV attacks.
