Istanbul Governor Davut Gul visited the Zero Waste Festival held at Ataturk Airport. Various activities are being organized at the festival to raise zero waste awareness among children.
İstanbul Governor Davut Gül visited the stands at the "Zero Waste Festival," which opened its doors to visitors at Atatürk Airport.
Governor Gül received information from officials at the "Zero Waste Festival" area, which was realized under the auspices of Emine Erdoğan, Chair of the United Nations (UN) Zero Waste High-Level Advisory Board and Honorary Chair of the Zero Waste Foundation, in collaboration with the Zero Waste Foundation and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources.
"EVENTS HELD IN 39 DISTRICTS OF THE CITY"
Governor Gül, who toured the stands set up, stated in his statement to an AA reporter that within the scope of "İstanbul Zero Waste Week" celebrated from June 1-7, over 1,500 events were held in the city's 39 districts.
Gül said, "There are two more important events within this week. One is the Zero Waste Forum to be held, and the other is the Zero Waste Festival we are currently in. Civil society organizations, our public institutions and organizations, our citizens, everyone is here. In Istanbul, an environment has been created in line with the Population and Family Decade, where children and young people can spend time with their families without spending money."
"THE FESTIVAL ADDS A SIGNIFICANT EXPERIENCE TO CHILDREN"
Stating that the festival adds a significant experience to children, Gül said, "Our children and young people show great interest. We extend our thanks to the esteemed Emine Erdoğan, who coordinates these efforts, to our Zero Waste Foundation's valuable President Mr. Samed, and to all stakeholders."
Gül, mentioning that there are various activities for children at the festival, used the following expressions:
"Children will experience the issues they see in books or hear by word of mouth here. While playing games, they will also gain zero waste awareness. They will learn not to waste and to use resources efficiently, but they will do so without getting bored. There will be evening concerts and games. My recommendation to our fellow Istanbulites is to make the most of these four days."
