ARMED ATTACK AT A RESTAURANT
According to local police, the incident occurred at a restaurant in the town of San Pablo Etla, dependent on the capital of Oaxaca state. Leyva, who was attacked while having breakfast, died at the scene, and a woman was also injured in the attack.
INVESTIGATION ORDERED BY THE GOVERNOR
Oaxaca Governor Salomon Jara condemned the attack in a statement on his X account. Jara announced that he instructed the state prosecutor's office to conduct the investigation in coordination with federal authorities responsible for crimes against freedom of expression.
