Beşiktaş President Serdal Adalı made striking statements about Mohamed Salah, who transferred to Trabzonspor. Stating that the Salah transfer was not among Beşiktaş's plans, Adalı also responded to claims of being beaten to the transfer.

Speaking about the Mohamed Salah transfer, Serdal Adalı said, "We did not want the Mohamed Salah transfer. Let them know this very well. We did not sign Salah. There is no such situation as us being beaten to the transfer or not being able to sign him. No one has taken a player from Beşiktaş's hands during my time. Let my community know this very well."
