In July 2025, a new salary period begins for millions of civil servants, retirees, and citizens receiving social support. The inflation data to be announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank's expectation survey for April have started to clarify the rate of increase. Significant increases are expected both in salaries and in certain items (for example, paid military service).
EYES TURNED TO JULY 3
The date when the salary increases for civil servants and retirees, determined by the inflation difference and collective bargaining increases, will be finalized is July 3, 2025. TÜİK will announce the inflation data for June at 10:00 AM. With this data, the rate of increase for SSK, Bağ-Kur retirees, and civil servants will be confirmed.
FIRST 3-MONTH INFLATION WAS 10.06%
According to the data announced by TÜİK;
- January: 5.03%
- February: 2.27%
- March: 2.46%
The total inflation rate for the first three months was 10.06%. This rate will directly reflect in the salary increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.
6-MONTH INFLATION EXPECTATION IS 17.91%
According to the Central Bank's April market participants survey;
- April: 3.07%
- May: 2.20%
- June: 1.70%
Based on these estimates, the 6-month inflation is expected to reach 17.91%. This rate means a direct increase for SSK and Bağ-Kur retirees.
16% INCREASE FORECAST FOR CIVIL SERVANTS
The increase rate for civil servants and civil servant retirees depends not only on the inflation difference but also on the 5% increase from collective bargaining. According to the expected scenario:
- Inflation difference: 11.79%
- Collective bargaining increase: 5%
TOTAL INCREASE RATE IS 16.79%
According to these rates, salaries will change completely.
THE LOWEST RETIREMENT SALARY WILL EXCEED 17,000 TL
The lowest civil servant retirement salary, which was 14,469 TL in January 2025, is expected to rise above 17,060 TL with a 17.91% increase. However, the final figure will be clarified according to parliamentary regulations and budget possibilities.
PAID MILITARY SERVICE FEE RISES TO 283,000 TL
The paid military service fee, which was 243,013 TL in January 2025, is expected to rise to approximately 283,814 TL in July, depending on the civil servant salary coefficient. Increases will be updated in parallel with inflation and salary coefficients.
INCREASES WILL AFFECT NOT ONLY SALARIES BUT ALSO THE ECONOMY
The increases to be made in July 2025 will not only concern employees and retirees; they will also closely affect social assistance, paid military service fees, and the public budget. Therefore, all eyes will be on the inflation data to be announced on July 3. That day stands out as a critical day when the new income level of millions of citizens will be determined.
