The incident occurred on August 21 in the afternoon in the rural Tavşantepe neighborhood of Bağlar district. Narin Güran, who was attending a Quran course, did not return home after class, so her family conducted a search on their own. When the search with the villagers yielded no results, Narin's father Arif Güran went to the gendarmerie station on the same day around 8:00 pm and reported that his daughter was missing. As a result of the report, Bağlar District Gendarmerie Command, Bağlar Security Commando Battalion Command, Gendarmerie Special Operations teams, Gendarmerie Criminal Investigation Teams (JASAT), Intelligence Branch Directorate, Dog Tracking Team, and Underwater Search and Rescue Team, as well as health, AFAD, Diyarbakır Metropolitan Municipality Underwater Search teams and search and rescue teams from district municipalities were dispatched to the area.

EXTENSIVE SEARCH

The search efforts were supported from the air with helicopters belonging to the gendarmerie and the Provincial Police Department. In addition, approximately 150 vehicles that were determined to have passed through the area during the hours when Narin went missing were questioned. Searches were conducted in houses in the neighborhood and vehicles entering the village. So far, a total of 12,550 vehicles have been searched, statements have been taken from 130 individuals, and searches have been conducted in an area of ​​over 11,000 acres with 7 tracking dogs.

SLIPPER FOUND, DIFFERENT NUMBER

During the search operations, a child's slipper was found on the side of the road on the night of August 22. The slipper, which was about 3 kilometers away from the Güran family's house, was shown to Narin's parents. The couple said that the slipper belonged to their daughter. The slipper was taken to the laboratory by the gendarmerie for examination. However, the family later stated that the slipper had a different number than Narin's.
