Gökçe announced on his social media account that the wedding will take place on May 28, using the following statements:
"Dear friends,
Today, I want to share some news about my private life with you:
We wanted our decision of 'Marriage' with my dear 'life partner' Filiz Kahveci, which we had planned for this summer, not to be hindered by this detention or unlawfulness.
In the face of this injustice and oppression, we have decided not to give up on our dreams and our lives.
Despite the sadness we are experiencing, I must express that while sharing this happy and special news with you, we want to 'note' this unlawful period in history with a pure marriage from another perspective.
If there are no setbacks under the difficult and impossible conditions in prison, we cannot invite anyone to our wedding on May 28. Even our families are subject to ministry permission!
