Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan criticized the CHP's signature campaign launched for Ekrem İmamoğlu, saying, "Can a person be released with a signature campaign, for God's sake? Should we start a campaign to close down the CHP as well? Would that work? Let's appoint a trustee to the CHP. Give us the signature campaign. Would that work? There is a proper way and etiquette for everything."
Deputy Minister of Interior Bülent Turan went to Karabük for various contacts and visits. Attending a meeting organized within the framework of the Animal Protection Law at the Karabük Governorship, Deputy Minister Turan reminded that the new law imposes responsibilities on municipalities, stating, "We want there to be no stray animals on the streets. It brings some special provisions, such as municipalities allocating a share from their budgets of five per thousand, or expanding shelters if they have them, or building them if they do not."
"HE IS HOLDING A RALLY, SAYING WE WILL FIGHT"
After visiting the governorship, Turan visited his party's Karabük Provincial Presidency, where he criticized CHP Chairman Özgür Özel in his statements. Turan noted, "The man said yesterday, 'Are you ready for war?' Is this a statement that makes sense? He is holding a rally, saying we will fight. Are you on enemy soil? Who are you fighting? They would tell him to put on a uniform. Is this called opposition? Does this contribute to Turkey's democracy, politics, or development? There can be political polemics, competition, and discussions, but what does war mean? What does calling people to the streets mean? The street is a sign of helplessness, incompetence.
"DID MR. ERDOĞAN SAY 'GO TO THE STREETS' WHEN HE WAS IMPRISONED?"
What is the purpose of the Group Deputy Chair? What is the purpose of group meetings, rallies, and the parliamentary podium? What does it mean to call people to the streets? What have we seen? What have we gone through? We have no fear. But it is a shame for the country. Remember, when Mr. Erdoğan was imprisoned, did he say 'go to the streets'? He said to be patient. He said we will walk together. Erbakan Hodja's party was closed. Did he say 'go to the streets'? Adnan Menderes was hanged. Did Menderes say 'go to the streets'? Can one call people to the streets against every law and every court decision?
"I SERVED WITH MR. ÖZGÜR FOR 10 YEARS"
I am one of those who know Mr. Özgür best. We served together for ten years. Mr. Özgür has no other claim than trying to solidify his current political position. He has no issues with Ekrem Bey, nor with the CHP. He is only trying to secure his own seat. He is doing something to appear favorable to his own base. There may be a marginal small group from his own base. Could this be the party that grew the Turkey founded by Atatürk? What is being done now is nothing but an attempt to solidify Mr. Özgür's own seat."
Criticizing the signature campaign launched against CHP's presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, Turan said, "Can a man be released with a signature campaign, for God's sake? Should we also start a campaign for the CHP to be closed? Is that possible? Let a trustee be appointed to the CHP. Give the signature campaign. Is that possible? Everything has its own etiquette and procedure," he stated. Criticizing the CHP's calls for boycotts against certain brands, Turan said, "He tried to boycott. Is there a single foreign brand? Can there be such an understanding? A person who boycotts by heartlessly cannot walk this path. When you ask why he did this, he says he doesn't know. We will all see the political life of Mr. Özgür."
