Bursaspor, which dropped to the 3rd League after winning the Super League championship, is rising from its ashes. The Crocodiles, who declared their championship this season in the 2nd League they entered last year and rose to the 1st League, played most of their matches in this league in front of an average of 42,000 spectators, primarily women and child fans, just as they did in the 3rd League. While at least 750,000 fans watched the 18 matches played by the green-white players at their 43,361-capacity stadium in Bursa throughout the season, opposing team players took to the green field in a Champions League atmosphere due to the crowds, enthusiasm, and special choreographies they witnessed in the stands.
39 THOUSAND SEASON TICKETS SOLD OUT IN 2 HOURS
In Bursaspor, which will compete in the 1st League next season, fan support for the team continues to grow stronger. The fact that 39 thousand season tickets put on sale for the new season sold out in just 2 hours revealed the excitement within the community for the 1st League.
'WE STARTED THE SENSE OF BELONGING WITH CHILDREN'
Bursaspor Vice President Oğuzhan Kutlucan, stating that the foundation of the bond with the fans lies in the sense of belonging, noted that they achieved an incredible performance throughout the season with Club President Enes Çelik, saying, "As our President said in the early days, we wanted to see children playing on the streets in Bursaspor jerseys again. That's why we started with children and families first. We turned the stands into an environment where families could easily come, and we succeeded in that."
'AN AVERAGE OF 42 THOUSAND AFFECTS THE PLAYERS'
Kutlucan, stating that all matches in Bursa were played as sell-outs in front of 42 thousand spectators, said, "Playing in front of an average of 42 thousand fans per match at the 2nd and 3rd league level seriously affects both our players and our opponents. It's impossible not to get excited in this atmosphere. While this reflects positively on our team, it can also create pressure from time to time, which is very normal. We take care to do everything we do in a way that is explainable to our fans. Bursaspor is a big community, we don't take a step without considering this community."
'WE HOLD THE RECORDS'
Oğuzhan Kutlucan, drawing attention to the fact that there is no equivalent to the high spectator numbers in the green-white stands, said, "750 thousand fans watched our players throughout the season. Opposing players are surprised when they see the fans. There is no such interest in the lower leagues. I don't think there is a fan average like this in these leagues, or even in Turkey and the world right now at this level. All the records are ours. We are proud to have given this confidence to our fans."
'SEASON TICKETS EXCEPT THE NORTH STAND SOLD OUT IN 2 MINUTES'
Kutlucan, recalling that the season tickets selling out in 2 hours was the most obvious example of fan support, said, "Season tickets except the North Stand sold out in 2 minutes. Together with the North Stand, a total of 39 thousand season tickets were completely sold in a short time of 2 hours. There will be no ticket sales for upcoming matches except the away stand."
