BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici made harsh statements against Ahmet Türk, calling him "a political separatist, a terrorist supporter, and a terrorist sympathizer. It’s that clear. If he’s not, let him come out and say, ‘PKK is a terrorist organization. It commits terrorism and aims to divide the country. I am for Turkey’s territorial integrity, national unity, common language, and common flag.’"
Mustafa Destici, the Chairman of the Great Unity Party (BBP), made harsh statements about Ahmet Türk, the former Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was replaced by a trustee. Destici claimed that Ahmet Türk is a "political separatist, a supporter of terrorism, and a lover of terror," stating, "If he isn't, let him come out and say 'The PKK is a terrorist organization.'"
“WE HAVE NO CHOICE BUT TO PRODUCE”
BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici made assessments on the agenda during a press conference held at the party headquarters. Starting his speech by celebrating May 14th as World Farmers' Day, Destici emphasized the importance of production.
“Whether they are producers of tea, olives, grapes, wheat, or barley, all our agricultural producers and farmers need greater support,” said Destici, arguing that Turkey can overcome its economic problems through production.
Destici stated, “We will eliminate unemployment, inflation, and high interest rates by producing. As long as we cannot produce, we are condemned to be subject to unemployment, high interest rates, and inflation.”
HARSH OUTBURST AGAINST AHMET TÜRK
Responding to journalists' questions, Destici made striking statements about Ahmet Türk, the former Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was replaced by a trustee. Reminding that Ahmet Türk served as a member of parliament and mayor for years, Destici said, “This state, this country has given him far more than he deserves. But what has he given to the state, the country, and the nation? We actually knew from the past that he supports the terrorist organization. We knew he acted alongside them. But he didn't reveal himself much. In this recent process, his true identity and true intentions have come to light.”
“LET HIM SAY THE PKK IS A TERRORIST ORGANIZATION”
The BBP leader continued his criticisms towards Ahmet Türk, using the following statements: "The former Metropolitan Mayor of Mardin is a political separatist, a supporter of terrorism, and a lover of terror. That's clear. If he isn't, let him come out and say, 'The PKK is a terrorist organization. It is engaging in terror and wants to divide the country. I am in favor of Turkey's territorial integrity, national unity, common language, and common flag.'"
“TOGETHER WITH THE CHP, TURKEY HAS BEEN TARGETED”
Mustafa Destici also made evaluations regarding the resignations within the CHP. Arguing that the process is proceeding within the framework of democracy and law, Destici claimed that the investigations into the Mayor of Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality are fundamentally aimed at "managing the party and becoming a presidential candidate." Using the phrase, "The ingratitude towards the former chairman, the events at the congress…" Destici argued that these events are not merely an individual process. Destici said, “In my opinion, along with the Republican People's Party, Turkey has been targeted here.”
“THEY CLAIM TO HAVE BEEN EXCLUDED FROM THEIR PARTIES”
Speaking about the mayors and members of parliament who left the CHP, Destici highlighted the differing opinions within the party. “We want every elected member of parliament or mayor to complete their term within their own party,” said Destici, arguing that after the congress process in the CHP, serious divisions emerged. Destici stated, “Mayors or members of parliament elected in the past claim that they have been excluded from their parties.”
HOW DID THE POLEMIC START?
The comment made by Ahmet Türk, the former Mayor of Mardin Metropolitan Municipality who was removed from office and replaced by a trustee, regarding Amedspor's promotion to the Super League sparked a new polemic in politics. During Amedspor's championship celebrations, Türk used the statement, "I am very happy. A team from Kurdistan has been promoted to the Super League," which drew a reaction from BBP Chairman Mustafa Destici. In a post on his social media account, Destici harshly criticized Ahmet Türk, saying, "What Kurdistan! This is the Republic of Turkey. If you don't like it, get lost and leave." Ahmet Türk responded to these words by saying, "I don't take Mustafa Destici seriously. He is not someone worth responding to."
