The bodyguard and cousin of Engin Polat, who lost his life in an armed attack in the Çeşme district of Izmir, Can Polat, was laid to rest in Istanbul. During the funeral, his daughter Damla Polat, who had a nervous breakdown, shouted, "A vacation became a grave for my father" and "They killed my father."
Can Polat, who served as Dilan Polat's bodyguard and driver and is also Engin Polat's cousin, lost his life after an armed attack in the Çeşme district of Izmir. Shortly after the attack, Dilan Polat made a broadcast asking for help, drawing attention with her words: "Please, police, ambulance here... They shot Can Polat. We are all stuck in the room. Our lives have become hell now."
Polat, who was taken to the hospital in serious condition, could not be saved despite all the doctors' interventions. The sad news plunged his family and loved ones into grief.
HE WAS BIDDED FAREWELL ON HIS FINAL JOURNEY
A funeral ceremony was held for Can Polat at Küçükbakkalköy Merkez Mosque in Istanbul. His funeral, which was sent off on his final journey after the noon prayer, was attended by his family, relatives, and many people. Emotional moments were experienced during the ceremony.
HIS DAUGHTER'S SCREAMS BROKE HEARTS
The hardest moments at the funeral were experienced by Can Polat's daughter, Damla Polat. The young girl, who burst into tears in front of the mosque, fainted while saying, "They killed my father."
Damla Polat, who fell to the ground, got up and ran when she saw the coffin, embracing her father's coffin. The young girl's words, "Where is my father? Dad... The holiday has become a grave for my father," moved those who attended the ceremony.
Damla Polat, who was tried to be calmed down by her relatives, had a nervous breakdown due to grief. Polat was later carried in the arms and taken away from the funeral area.
