HEADMAN: WE SUBMITTED A PETITION FOR A BRIDGE TO BE BUILT
Mersinbelen Neighborhood Headman Mustafa Tosun, noting that the creek has posed similar dangers for years, said:
"Sarıçay Creek has become the nightmare of the citizens in this region for years. There are problems here with every rain. Today, a car was also submerged in the waters. We rescued the driver with the support of the gendarmerie. There have been many vehicles caught in floods before as well. We have made applications to the relevant authorities, and we also submitted a petition for a bridge to be built, but it has never been built. Does someone have to die?"
Residents of the neighborhood want a bridge to be built over Sarıçay Creek as soon as possible in order to prevent similar dangers and avert a possible disaster.
