In Samsun's Atakum district, 27-year-old caregiver D.B., who had been caring for an 86-year-old bedridden woman and her 60-year-old daughter for 6 months, was arrested after it was determined that she had transferred 78,000 lira from the elderly woman's bank account to her own account. The caregiver, who said she had enforcement debts, argued that she did not steal the gold worth 240,000 lira that disappeared from the house.
In the Atakum district of Samsun, a caregiver who had been caring for about 6 months for two elderly women, one of them bedridden, was arrested by the court she was brought before after transferring 78 thousand lira from the elderly woman's account to her own account and paying off her debt.
SHE HAD BEEN WORKING WITH THEM FOR 6 MONTHS
The incident occurred in the Körfez Neighborhood of Atakum district. According to the information obtained, it was determined that D.B. (27), a married mother of one child who had been working as a caregiver in the home of 86-year-old bedridden M.Ç. and her 60-year-old daughter S.G. for about 6 months, transferred 78 thousand lira from the elderly woman's bank account to her own account. It was later established that the caregiver woman sent the money in question to her creditor's account. During checks carried out in the house, it also emerged that gold worth 240 thousand lira had disappeared.
SHE CLAIMED SHE DID NOT STEAL THE GOLD
Upon the complaint of the elderly women, D.B., who was taken into custody by teams of the Theft Bureau Office of the Public Order Branch Directorate of the Samsun Provincial Police Department, admitted that she had transferred money to her bank account. The caregiver, who stated that she had enforcement debts, claimed that she transferred the money to her own account because of her debts. However, she argued that she did not steal the gold in the house.
D.B., who was referred to the Samsun Courthouse today after proceedings at the police station, was arrested by the court she was brought before and sent to Çarşamba Women's Closed Prison.
