Cat feces found in openly sold rice at a grocery store in the Toroslar district was recorded by citizens with mobile phones and shared on social media. Upon the spread of the footage, teams from the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry conducted an investigation. The directorate imposed a fine of 52 thousand TL on the business.

In a statement made by the directorate, it was stated: "Based on the footage published on social media indicating 'cat feces' in rice sold in bulk at a business operating in the Akbelen Neighborhood of Toroslar District, an administrative fine of 52,801 TL was imposed on the relevant business under Law No. 5996, as a result of an inspection carried out by the Toroslar District Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry food controllers, on the grounds that it did not comply with the Food Hygiene Regulation rules, and subsequently, a suitable sales environment was established. In order to access safe food, all our citizens can always report and complain to our Ministry via the Alo 174 Food Complaint Line and the Safe Food Mobile Application. For public health and access to safe food, our ministry continues its uncompromising and uninterrupted inspections."
